Clarity in 30 Seconds: The Authority Edge Elevator Speech Guide Pt1

Nail Your Elevator Speech in One Breath (The 5P Framework)

If it takes a paragraph to explain what you do, you don’t have an elevator speech—you have a maze. And if people are lost after your introduction, they won’t follow you further.

The solution? Create a one-breath message that sparks curiosity instead of confusion.

The 5P Framework (20–30 Seconds)

Here’s a simple formula that keeps your pitch tight, clear and compelling:

·       Person/Problem: I help [who] who [struggle]…

·       Promise: …get [result]…

·       Pathway: …by [method].

·       Proof: Recently [micro-win/stat].

·       Prompt: Let’s talk, [soft CTA].

This keeps your focus on what matters: the person you serve, the result they want, the way you deliver it, proof you can back it up and a soft next step.

Copy-and-Paste Template

“I help [WHO] [ACHIEVE/AVOID] [RESULT] by [METHOD]. Recently [MICRO-PROOF]. If you’re exploring that, [NEXT STEP].”

This template isn’t just a sentence—it’s a clarity tool. Use it to trim the fat from your message until it can be spoken confidently in one breath.

Tailored Example: The Wise Attic

7-Second Version: “I help Houston homeowners cut summer bills by fixing attic inefficiencies.”

20-Second Version: “I help Houston homeowners who battle hot rooms and high bills get year-round comfort and lower energy costs by sealing leaks, upgrading insulation, and balancing airflow. A recent customer dropped peak-season usage 18% in 45 days. If that’s on your list, want my free Attic Efficiency Checklist?”

Notice how the message is crisp, rooted in outcomes and backed by proof.

30-Second Version: “I help Houston homeowners who struggle with hot rooms and high energy bills achieve year-round comfort and lower costs by sealing leaks, upgrading insulation and balancing airflow. One family recently saw their master bedroom drop from 82° to 74° at sunset and reduced peak energy usage by 18% in just 45 days. If that’s on your radar, would you like my free Attic Efficiency Checklist?”

💬 Final Word: Clarity earns conversation. Tighten your message until it flows in one breath, and you’ll instantly feel the difference in how people respond. In the next post, we’ll go deeper into examples, common mistakes and how to practice until your delivery is second nature.
